Everyone is talking about our beautiful brand new larger location in the North Liberty/Corridor area. The school was founded in 1996 by two psychologists as the Eastwind School and was located in the downtown Iowa City area. Over the years it has established itself as the most widely known school for Massage Therapy training in the Iowa area. It has consistently had an excellent rate of successful completion of the Iowa and National certification exam and has graduated hundreds of students who are now practicing all over the country and in Europe. In 2006, Kristen Stephens took over as President/Executive Director and earlier this year the school changed its name to East•West School of Integrative Healing Arts, to better reflect the philosophies of teaching – both Shiatsu and Western Massage. You will get a very thorough education in both modalities and energy healing at the East•West School.

East•West School offers two stimulating programs to choose from: Comprehensive Program (650 hours), and the Comprehensive Plus Program (800 hours). East•West provides a great education in holistic, integrative and complementary medicine, with all its programs leading to national certification and licensure as a massage therapist. You will learn a variety of both Western and Eastern Massage and Healing Techniques. All classes begin at 9:00 A.M. and finish around 5:00 P.M. throughout the entire term. You are considered a full-time student, however you are only required to attend classroom instruction on Monday and Tuesday from 9:00-5:00 and about two weekends each month from 9:00-5:00, which allows lots of time for family, friends, study and work on the remaining days each month. (Many schools require you to be there every day….but students love our program, because we give you days off during each week).
